How is face lift surgery or surgical face lift?

The traditional face lift procedure is performed through an incision that starts in the hair or hairline and above the front of the ear (temporal region). The incision is extended down in front of the ear, comes under the ear and then up behind the ear ending in the hair or hairline behind the ear.

The skin and fatty tissues are raised as necessary to correct the problem of loose skin or fall. The underlying muscle and connective tissue can be tightened with sutures if the surgeon deems necessary. The skin is pulled up and remove excess skin.

The wound is closed with skin staples and sutures. Some surgeons leave a drain in the wound to drain excess blood after the bandages are placed. There are surgical techniques that go into deeper tissues, rather than under the skin and fat, but the results are similar.

  1. The risks and complications you mentioned here can actually be avoided or reduced. For example, when it comes to bruises, the amount of bruises can be reduced without using drains during the procedure. Additionally, aspirin and other medications within two weeks after the surgery should be avoided.

  2. It’s amazing how a facelift surgery can transform a sagging old face into a young looking one. Cosmetic procedures are ways for many aging people to restore their younger look. However, they sometimes forget that they have to properly take care of themselves and live a healthy lifestyle to maintain their beautiful appearance. When these steps are overlooked, the surgery might yield an unfavorable result.
